About the RSCPC Isle of Thanet Branch incorporating the Woodchurch Animal Centre
The RSPCA Isle of Thanet Branch Animal Centre at Woodchurch, Birchington, Kent was originally thought of in the mid 90s.
It was to be built in phases as money became available by the trustees and volunteers of the RSPCA Isle of Thanet Branch.
The project got a real boost when the branch was left a large legacy by Theordora Pullinger, a devoted animal lover, and this money enabled us to purchase our chosen site at Woodchurch, Birchington in 2002.
The site is just under 5 acres set in beautiful countryside with stables and commercial dog kennels close by.
Enough money has been raised (approximately £1million) to develop exciting new facilities.
The 15 pen Cattery with it’s own socialisation room where volunteers play with the animals to assess the animals character for re-homing.
Also to make their stay at the centre as sociable as possible allowing the animal freedom and stimulation.
The Isolation Block comprising of 4 Dog kennels and a further 4 Cat pods.
The Vet’s Room.
An administration block with accommodation and facilities for staff, managers and visitors
