Volunteering: How to become a Volunteer
If you are interested in becoming part of our happy band of volunteers then we do want to hear from you. We welcome people from all walks of life and you don’t need any special qualifications. What we are looking for are “animal friendly” people who are not particular about what they do, they just want to help the animals. However, do let us know what your skills are so that we can make the best possible use of your time.

Shops ...
Helping with the many varied jobs in all our shops including (if you are able) collecting goods from donors.

Administration ...
- Book-keeping
- Computer work (using your own computer)
- Mailings (sorting and filling envelopes)
Animal Centre ...
To become a volunteer at the animal centre you will be required to undertake training, especially in respect of Health & Safety, Homevisiting and animal care. 
- Reception/shop
- Keeping the centre clean
- Cleaning/feeding/grooming and socializing animals
- Laundry
- Transporting animals to and from the vets
- Fostering animals
- Homevisiting
Become a Friend ...
Become a Friend of the East Kent Animal Centre. By becoming a Friend you not only help us with the running costs of the centre but you are also helping us to promote and raise funds for future phases of the build all of which helps the many animals that need our care.
When becoming a Friend, you receive a membership card, car sticker plus a newsletter three times a year as well as free entry to any events held at the centre.You will also have the satisfaction of knowing you are supporting a very worthy cause.
